Voyager RV Resort – Tucson, AZ
Located on the eastern edge of Tucson Arizona, Voyager RV Resort consistently gets top reviews from Woodall’s, Good Sam and others. After staying for a week at this resort we were officially on board with being a snowbird!
Sure the price was a little more than some of the other area resorts but here, you get what you pay for. This resort was all about the amenities and activities, more so than any other resort we have ever been too!
Our personal favorites:
The Restaurant – We’ve eaten at our fare share of RV Resort restaurants and so far this was the best. Sweet Potato Fries, plenty of Vegetarian options, a full bar and most importantly this is the only campground that we’ve been to with its own brew on tap… and yes we had a couple. Would you expect anything less from us?
The Spa – its run by a local Tucson Spa called Visions so the service providers and products were professional and on par with what you would expect at any nice spa, a rarity in the RV Resort world. They also happened to carry Eminience Organics which is one of my favorite skin care lines, so that may have had something to do with it. All of the products smell like a fruit smoothie!
The pools – Yes, plural because there is more than one and they were well maintained. I loved lounging under the palapas, they reminded me of sitting on the beach in Mexico…”ohhhh cabana boy”. One very crazy afternoon we were treated to something extremely rare in southern Arizona and it was quite the experience. SNOW!?!? Which made those palapas look more inviting than ever!
Two pieces of advice on this resort:
- If you want to get your moneys worth and truly see why this resort is rated so high….take advantage of the activities and amenities. This is not the place to just sit around.
- The golf course is narrow and challenging (which makes it fun). If you play a round, watch out for the newbies! I always thought I had a good slice until I saw these guys! My game was lookin’ good!
All in all Tucson is one of our favorite Arizona towns and if you are looking to live the Resort lifestyle this is definitely the top RV resort in the area. With a thriving arts scene, great food, a hip downtown, the University of AZ, Pima Air & Space Museum, Saguaro National Park and so much more you gotta add Tucson to your travel list.
If you’ve been to the area and have a favorite spot to hike, eat, or play let us know in the comments below, we’ll hit them on the way through next time.
Disclaimer: While we were compensated to film the campground (thanks Encore!)…all of our experiences and opinions are not purchased and are still our own. Meaning if the beer was really terrible, we would tell you.
