The Mental Game Is Hard, Sailing Is Easy
Sailing is all about the journey…even the frustrating bits.
We're on the final stretch of our sail to Cebu for warranty work. It's been seven days so far, but it feels like we've been at this 5am anchor up, sail/motor all day, and anchor down at 5pm routine for weeks.
Our haul out date is growing closer and the health of our engines is in question. The wind hasn't been helping us out much, so there's no time for taking it easy or exploring. At this point, our only mission is to get there. But it seems each day presents new challenges.
The last time we left you, we had a terrifying midnight boarding. It turned out to be the coast guard but still, the event left us more jittery than a quad shot of espresso. Which of course, nothing makes every obstacle feel more challenging than a little sleep deprivation.
Let the (mental) games begin.
Because don't you know, just when we needed a solid anchorage for a good nights rest...
Land and sand every where, nary a patch for me.
